The Chief’s Energy Challenge is a Town of Cary grant program that encourages fire stations and police departments to become more energy efficient. Metro created the logo, web site, case studies, and even t-shirts that promoted the program.
The logo needed to connect to the fire and police audience , so the primary red and blue colors and the star were used with a more contemporary typeface and icon.
The main focus of the program is the web site, where users can sign up for the challenge, download energy resources, watch videos, see the interactive map of other participants and share their own energy-saving stories.
Illustrations were used on the site and on the case studies to easily identify the nature of the energy improvements.
T-shirt giveaways were used to encourage participation – the logo and icons created a cool shirt.
